Worldly songs
and magical pictures
Carl Orff purposely refrained from using the logical dramaturgy of
a continuous plot. Distancing himself from dramatic dialogs and conflicts,
he allowed the lyrics to narrate different scenes of life and human
existence in a loose order: from fortune and misfortune, love and
hate, life and death! The worship of the heavenly lies next to
the pact with the devil. Worldly and churchly power, the citizens,
the juggler, the beggar and the jester - in this imaginary world
of the mediaeval all people have the same desire for lust.
Mihail Tchernaevs magnificent stage
architecture with its fascinating light projections and its intoxicating fire
effects creates a unique background for a spectacular show with 30 dancers
in 300 different costumes, a choir, a large orchestra and soloists.
Die CARMINA BURANA
MONUMENTAL OPERA
is a pioneer work that sets a new standard in the world of music events.
