CARMINA BURANA MONUMENTAL OPERA on tour since 1995

The very first classical production to go over the Atlantic

Berg am Starnberger See  27.01. 2005. When the CARMINA BURANA MONUMENTAL OPERA had its premiere performance at Koenigsplatz in Munich in 1995, nobody could have imagined what a fabulous success this unique classical production would become. Since then, the CARMINA BURANA MONUMENTAL OPERA has toured the world more than once, and has been performed over one hundred times. In March this year, Art Concerts, based in Berg am Starnberger See, will stage a performance of their unique production in the U.S.A. and Canada. This will be the first European classical production to be performed in North America, and dates include Toronto, Washington DC, Chicago and Montreal among others.

In retrospect, this was a very special occasion for Rosenheim born producer Franz Abraham and his company, Art Concerts. " This production was originally planned as a one off Open-Air performance for the occasion of Carl Orff's 100th birthday at Koenigsplatz, Munich - now we have already seen over one hundred performances and we are about to enter the most important entertainment market in the world, the U.S.A. .
No other European production has done this, until now" explained Mr. Abraham. He expanded by saying " My team and I are proud of this achievement. Almost a million people all over the world have seen the CARMINA BURANA MONUMENTAL OPERA. We have played in the most important arenas and concert halls with tremendous success. In the last 9 years this performance has risen to become the most successful classical production of its kind". In November and December 2004 alone, there were 30 performances in 32 days during the European tour programme.
